Phew. I don't know about you, but even the thought of getting my kids in snow gear makes me start to sweat. The fun that follows is always worth it, but I would be lying if I said I didn't cringe every time snow was in the forecast...because of the gear!
Who feels me? MMMMHMM.
Feelings aside..living in the Pacific Northwest has taught us that we need to be ready..rain/wind/sleet/ice...it could all come our way, and there is nothing worse than not having the right clothes in the closet!
Another snow-reality? Our darling children GROW! What might fit one year, is a thing of the past the next...and I haven't quite found the tree made of money.
We need gear that wont feel like highway robbery AND is as hassle free as possible.
SO...let's get after it...what does Mama and Things recommend to prevent our little lambs from getting those dreaded red fingers, and prolonging the hours of FUN!?
A good snow bib!
I love using snow bibs! No one likes snow going up your back or down the other end...especially your kiddos. You don't need to spend 100 bucks on a good set of bibs...these do the job and come in a lot of fun colors!
Waterproof mittens! For those little hands. We love these ones..! They seem to be really flexible for picking things up, and have warm fleece inside.
Fleece lined non-waterproof mittens for even more mobility. I always like to have a pair on hand (pun not intended) just in case frustration levels start stomping on our adventures with hand mobility!
A hat that covers those ears! These two have been our favorite, and I always reach for them in the cold weather!
Actual waterproof boots, that are EASY to get on. Key word...EASY.
Warm snow jacket! This jacket is PRIME TIME. It's so warm on the inside, comes in cute designs, and runs a bit large so it has lasted us two years (WIN)! It even has sleeves that pop out and hook to their thumb for extra warmth.
Finally...do NOT underestimate the power of a good pair of socks...! Here are our favorite on those extra chilly days for our kids!
And there you have it mamas. My favorite snow gear for the kids! Here's to hoping they bring you many easy sweat reduced moments of gearing up your littles for the loads of cold fun :).
